FP&A Analyst Group

For our FP&A Group department we are looking for a FP&A Analyst group. You will be working in a dynamic, international environment within our Headquarters located in Amsterdam. You will report to the Head of Group FP&A and be part of a team of 8 people. You will work closely with Senior Management on strategic plans, target, forecasting and financial analysis. 
 

Job purpose/Responsibilities

  • The Global FP&A Analyst is part of a focused team creating an impact by providing high value adding analysis
  • Be the expert owner of the end-to-end financial Planning/Budgeting/Forecasting (PBF) process
  • Be a Business partner to Group Controller/other Senior finance leaders to improve PBF process 
  • Proactively drive culture of continuous improvement
  • Align PBF process with strategic objectives of AkzoNobel
  • Drive the maturity agenda in the areas of Governance and Process Management
  • Design, execute the Group wide financial planning and performance management process
  • (Co-)Define measures, reports  and metrics of performance management at Global level
  • Provide key stakeholders a better understanding of business performance and PBF projections
  • Proactively help other team members to grow and develop
  • Be a sparring partner to the Head of Group FP&A
  • Develop policies and guidelines for the design, implementation and improvement of budget, planning and forecasting processes and timetables in line with the Integrated Business Planning
  • Eliminate, simplify, standardize and automate outputs in a structured and consistent manner
  • Collaboration and close relation with:
    • ISC & Commercial CoE and Business Navigators to define measures and improve PBF processes
    • Regional FP&A
    • Global Reporting and Analytics team
    • Accounting and Finance Operations

Requirements

  • A candidate with more than 7 years of experience in a FP&A/Controlling role in strategic/transactional/operational finance and capable of analyzing complex processes and issues
  • Acquired strong understanding of financial planning from a group/global perspective
  • Master degree in Accounting (i.e. RA, CA / CMA), Finance or Business (i.e. MBA) or equivalent 
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple layers in the organization
  • Ability to manage and connect stakeholders on different levels of the organization 
  • Ability to deliver high quality work under time pressure
  • Previous experience in working in FP&A departments with global scope
  • Demonstrated success in designing/driving financial planning processes
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including ability to articulate recommendations across all layers in the organization in a concise and timely manner
  • Demonstrated experience in helping junior analysts to grow and develop
  • Strong ‘can-do’ mentality and ‘drive’ to accomplish tasks and deliver results
  • No 9-5 mindset
  • Advanced Excel/ Powerpoint knowledge/skills
  • Experience in ‘change management’ in a finance environment is required
  • Good Knowledge of Hyperion (HFM) is desired
