Let's paint the picture of the role

The Domain Lead Portfolio Management is responsible for managing and improving the portfolio management process within the Information Technology (IT) function.

Reporting to the Head of IT Business Partnering, you will drive the process to establish and maintain an accurate, transparent and predictable portfolio of new IT initiatives (‘demands’), that are prioritized in cooperation with business stakeholders, to be delivered on time, in full, within budget and to the required quality standards by the IT team. 
Together with your team you collaborate closely and ensure the xFT (cross-functional teams*)) adhere to the process and have the right tools and data available for them to be able to effectively manage and deliver the IT portfolio.

*) xFT – ‘cross-functional’ teams per IT domain, where IT Business Partner, Architecture and Delivery together are responsible for managing the IT portfolio and roadmap, resulting in innovative end-to-end solutions that drive business value.
 

Responsibilities

•    Set a Lean and Agile Portfolio management process and manage the processes, methods and tools. 

•    Organize, prepare and lead the Portfolio Board meetings to enable key decision making.

•    Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the IT portfolio management process.

•    Monitor and track progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

•    Provide regular reporting and communication for decision- making and portfolio performance measuring to IT and other key (business) stakeholders.

•    Build and maintain effective relationships with relevant stakeholders, acting as a primary point of contact for IT portfolio for all tactical and strategic IT related matters.

•    Build and maintain effective relationships and coach xFT team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth mindset.

What do you need to have to be successful in this role?

•    Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science or Business Administration. 

•    Proven experience of minimum of 10 years in IT.

•    Strong understanding of portfolio management principles, specially lean and agile with the corresponding methodologies, tools and best practices.

•    Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

•    Strong analytical and financial management skills.

•    Affinity with program and project management in a complex IT environment.

•    Relevant certifications such as Lean Portfolio Management are essential.
