In short

As a Regional Compliance Investigation Manager
your primary role is to support the AkzoNobel’s SpeakUp! whistleblower program by working to create awareness of, and confidence in the SpeakUp! process while conducting and/or managing global SpeakUp! investigations.

Key responsibilities

As a Regional Compliance Investigation Manager you will:

• Independently conduct or manage investigations of alleged violations of the company’s ethical standards or non-compliance with applicated laws, regulations and corporate policy;
• Investigations will include complex investigations of financial and non-financial matters potentially resulting in financial, reputational or legal ramifications to the company;
• Ensure global consistency in the investigation process and sanctions recommendations (investigations are lawfully and objectively conducted resulting in an accurate accounting of the issues);
• Identify and engage resources when needed internally and externally to manage the investigations in order to receive the right input;
• Recommend appropriate sanctions for substantiated violations along with pro-active measures which will reduce the risk of similar future incidents;
• Determine potential risk level to the organization and identify controls/processes which need review/improvement;
• Execute resulting action plans;
• Assist in reporting program within business, including monthly and quarterly reporting;
• Spot trends across cases and report trends to management for future prevention purposes;
• Support other areas of the business by providing needed data, where appropriate;
• Identify areas for improvement in the investigation and SpeakUp processes and be responsible for implementation upon approval.

As an effective Regional Compliance Investigation Manager, you understand how the Code of Conduct, Rules and Procedures as well as local legal requirements translate to the business environment. And you can see the big picture but also work diligently with detail, managing a caseload while efficiently conducting thorough investigations.   We are looking for someone who can establish rapport with business colleagues and conduct effective interviews in an effective and professional manner. You present a professional demeanor and are an effective communicator, written as well as spoken.  You establish a professional presence representing the Integrity & Compliance department that is independent from the business and is not influenced by employees and leadership.

Other requirements:
• University Degree, law, finance, accounting or similar business-related degree
• 5-8 years of experience in similar role;
• Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification a plus;
• Excellent analytical and judgment applied to investigations;;
• Understanding how the Code of Conduct, Rules and Procedures as well as local legal requirements translate to the business environment;
• Excellent English – oral and written skills
The base location is not necessarily in the Netherlands
