For our office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, we are  looking for an Agile Coach.

  • The Agile Coach facilitates and enables the organization in our path to become Agile. 
  • Creates awareness on the importance to become Agile, introduces Design Thinking, Lean Startup and the Agile methodologies to facilitate the adoption of new ways of thinking and working to help AkzoNobel become future proof.
  • The Agile Coach focuses on scaling agile ways of working, interacts with business representatives at all levels and enables teams to develop initiatives and projects in a flexible, fast and value driven way.  
  • The Agile Coach reports to the Agile Transformation and Digital Innovation Manager and is part of the CIOO team. 

Key Responsibilities


  • Coaches and ensures that teams working agile understand the key principles and values to be able to work effectively and get the best out of the new way of working 
  • Helps teams to scale their agile efforts: Introduces portfolio management, backlog management, value streams and coaches agile scrum teams 
  • Helps teams to understand how to best apply the process, routines and tools needed in order to increase their agility 
  • Recommends state of the art concepts, tools and methodologies to facilitate the cultural change and adoption of Agile ways of working  
  • Supports the design and implementation of Agile processes, principles and practices within an IT environment and business. 
  • Uses techniques that increase collaboration, predictability, transparency and promote a culture of experimentation and innovation. 
  • Actively involves, guides and coaches teams in setting up experiments with rapid prototyping until an MVP is ready to be tested and deployed back in the business
  • Guides teams to use Design Thinking as a way to create better user centric solutions, knows how to do user research and integrates this when preparing product owners to take their role
  • Is responsible for the adoption of Agile through education and facilitation programs. 

What do you bring?


  • Master degree or comparable experience in business, innovation, digital areas 
  • Demonstrated experienced as Agile coach or Innovation coach in both IT and business environments. 
  • Experience in Scaling agile frameworks: Spotify, SAFE, Teams of Teams, or similar
  • Previous experience coaching teams in Agile adoption or as a Scrum Master
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring, coaching roles
  • Experience in Learning, Culture, Change Management
  • Experience in facilitating, teaching and engaging small to large audiences
  • Good knowledge of software tools that support embedding agile ways of working, ex Kanban, Jira, Azure DevOps, Service Now Agile or similar
  • Strong preference for candidates with knowledge and experience in Design Thinking and Lean Startup 
  • Proficiency in English
