Are you ready to be a key player in managing high-stakes capital projects? As a Project Engineer at AkzoNobel in Ammerzoden, you will oversee a diverse range of projects concerning equipment, utilities, facilities, and the site. Your technical expertise and project management skills will be crucial in ensuring these projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities

 

  • Perform and oversee project management and engineering of capital and expense projects.
  • Develop project scope, conduct safety reviews, and specify equipment needs.
  • Create bid packages, manage installations, and supervise field construction.
  • Control costs, commission projects, and ensure proper project closure.
  • Plan, coordinate, and embed engineering changes to meet quality and cost objectives.
  • Manage the capex plan and deliver project studies and capital projects.
  • Support site departments in investment request applications.
  • Oversee project budgets and ensure timely reporting of metrics.
  • Enable and implement CI/ALPS initiatives.
  • Stay updated on relevant technology, company news, and HSE standards.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and site policies and procedures.
  • Communicate daily with project members and stakeholders.
  • Track project budgets and timelines to ensure completion within approved limits.
  • Audit projects post-completion to measure results against goals.
  • Foster an open environment for team performance.
  • Inform reporting lines and ensure adherence to HSE and compliance regulations.
  • Proactively manage project costs and report progress continuously.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Higher vocational degree with 10+ years or a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong influencing, entrepreneurial, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Extensive project management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant languages.
  • Experience across different business units, disciplines, or regions.
  • Broad or specialized knowledge of functional discipline, strategy, policies, and standards.
