Job Purpose

 

 

To ensure all raw materials received are accurately identified, quantified and visually inspected in accordance with the purchase order specifications and captured into SAP system. To allocate and stack all received raw materials to the correct racks and also ensure accurate issuing of raw materials for pre-weighing.
 

Key Accountabilities

 

Stock Receipts:

  • Ensure correct material has been delivered by validating delivery details against purchase order on SAP where applicable.
  • Safely off-load the trucks with the forklift where applicable and put materials on the receiving bay.
  • Confirm product description, quantity and expiry date are correct as per the delivery note and COA.
  • Ensure that COA’s are received with every material delivered and hand them over to the Technical manager.
  • Ensure raw material is in good condition and report any defective product to the Site Manager and materials planner.
  • Receipt raw material by accurately capturing all relevant details i.e. order number, material description, code and quantity, on SAP system.
  • Create a Goods Received Note.
  • Print raw material identification labels and label all the materials per pallet.
  • Randomly weigh and record received raw materials to confirm weight accuracy, and report any deviation.
  • Allocate RM to the correct racking location and stack them accordingly.


Stock Control:

  • Plan and conduct cycle counts of raw materials.
  • Prepare and co-ordinate teams during each stock take process.
  • Ensure that FIFO principle is applied to rotate stock and prevent SLOB.
  • Inform the relevant production supervisor or manager about any stock discrepancies or shortages.
  • Ensure that raw materials returned from production are checked for quantity and that are in usable condition before being stored back on the rack.
  • Ensure that cleaning material (resin & filler) taken from the RMS is only issued via the completion of the request form and is adjusted out of stock on SAP system accordingly.
  • Relocate damaged, suspect & expired stock to “Quarantine Area” and inform the Technical manager.
  • Complete daily checklist and report stock damages and any non-conformances.
     

Adhoc Activities:

  • Assist in pre-weigh or premix area when required.
  • Conduct internal auditing of pre-weigh materials for mix & drop products.
  • Perform any work-related reasonable task upon request by management.


Safety, Health & Environment Initiatives:

  • Adhere to and promote AkzoNobel life-saving rules.
  • Comply to ISO9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Ensure & maintain good housekeeping standards.
  • Report spillages, near misses, unsafe behaviour or conditions via Enablon reporting system.
  • Conduct and capture monthly BBS observations.
     

Experience

 

  • Computer literacy – MS Office, ERP Systems (SAP)
  • Education: Min - Matric (Grade 12), 
  • Ideal - Stock control certificate
  • Legal: Forklift license
  • Good communication skills
  • Stock control knowledge and strong accuracy with figures.
  • Ability to work independently while ensuring smooth material flow.
  • Sound administrative and reporting skills, with a keen eye for detail.
